It was 1995 and I went to see Bottom live 2 with the missus, in Bournemouth. It was taking place at the BIC, which is quite large. A couple of hours before the show, we were in one of the quieter areas having a beer. Rik just appeared and walked up to the bar to get some water. There were only a handful of people there, so he wasn’t mugged by loads of fans, just me and the missus! I got a pic with him and we had a quick chat about Comic Strip Presents (I remember asking how scary the Donnington set was, and he said it was pretty mad, all the stuff being thrown) and a few other things. He was totally charming and very down to earth.
